More snow up there than in Bellevue.

Looks like the W221 spent the night outside. Either from a seven figure house with no garage space, or it has depreciated down a notch.

I my small town of 7000 there is a couple that has an RS7, the wife’s car, and a Brand new Raptor, the husband’s. I don’t know what they do for a living but they obvmake more than the average income.

Befor the RS7 the wife had a Maserati Ghibli, she’s moving up in the world.

Yes, especially with the teddy bear mascot decal on the back.

In this day and age of high powered cars. Police forces are looking for powerful but also practical units for motorways and high speed chases.

The 5.0 V8 Mustang isn’t going down too well.

Kinja'd!!!

BMW 3 and 5 Series are common but anything can be a police car really.

“a seven figure house with no garage space”

Change that to “townhouse”, and you’ll describe queen anne down to a tee. You see some interesting street parked cars here.

I visit that area as little as possible :)

In Bellevue, the west side especially, it’s those living in little old tract houses that are now worth a 1MM+, but often have a one car garage. That, or the money laundering/otherwise sketchy set who are mysteriously loaded and don’t know or care about the car.

My parents are looking in either Bellevue, near Kirkland, Clyde Hill or Mercer Island as a “Pied-a-terre” so they can visit the grandchildren occasionally. “Something small and cheap” (I laugh). I see this as a ripe opportunity to park extra cars, RVs or boats. I want like a Boxster or a Cayman for the summer, but really have no place to park it here in QA. I mean, I already have a guy on my block street parking his Boxster....

They must be rich. Average detached house price in those areas is around 1MM even on the borders, and often far exceeding it, depending on neighborhood.

I live in downtown Bellevue, in a building with one space per unit. Many people can’t afford to keep that roof over their head with a single income. Virtually no guest parking. It’s a mess. Then again, drive through Medina, and plenty of prestige cars sleep outside (but not on the street anyway).

My brother-in-law was superintendent of public works for a small city up in northern California and as such, his responsibilities included the police cars. When it came time for them to buy new ones, they bought SUVs because the other options didn’t have full-sized spare tires.

Here, although there is someone with overall decision making approval. Vehicles are passed round by manufacturers for real world testing and a lot of input is taken from roads policing officers. Yes general patrol vehicles are whatever they can get in bulk for a good price, some leased and some purchased.

So a police force could be driving anything from a Land Rover Defender,

Kinja'd!!!

to a Vauxhall Corsa 1.2CDti.

Kinja'd!!!

to a BMW M135i,

Kinja'd!!!

to a Jaguar XF Sportbrake.

Seriously though, that Land Rover is pretty cool.

Though they don’t build Defenders any more there are still loads being used and many just sat at the back of depots un-used.
